As all locals know, Seattle is home to a bevy of deliciousness in the worlds of both food and drink, and the list is growing daily. We are also blessed to enjoy stunning views from basically every angle and a vibrant and eclectic culture, buzzing with life and activity. At no time does this city become more alive and beautiful than during the summer.

Sipping locally made beer, spirits, and wines so good they will make you forget the name Napa Valley, all while enjoying the warm sun and refreshing ocean breeze are essentially par for the course around here in the summertime-and that’s just for starters.  The idea of encapsulating all of the magical aspects of Seattle Summer in a single evening seems overwhelming, if not impossible. That is until you experience Pike Place Market’s Sunset Supper.

Yet another incredible event hosted by the Pike Place Market Foundation, Sunset Supper brings together countless local artisans and vendors of finely crafted foods and beverages for a fun and flavor filled evening in the heart of the beautiful, world-famous Pike Place Market. Sweet, savory, brewed, distilled or fermented, if it’s local and delicious, chances are, you’ll find it at Sunset Supper.

For Sunset Supper, the Market transforms into the perfect venue for a party of 1,400 guests featuring live entertainment and over 90 of the Pacific Northwest’s best wineries, breweries and restaurants. Cap of this night of enchantment with dancing under the stars, for something straight off the Silver Screen.

Your ticket to this memorable night includes unlimited food and drink while supplies last, and unlimited good times too!

At Sunset Supper, you can feel good about the great time you’re having too, as proceeds go to benefit the Pike Place Market Foundation in their fight to end hunger, care for the sick, educate kids, and find homes for those without.

See the list below of the fabulous vendors participating in this year’s event and visit their website to learn more about this incredible event and all the work the Pike Place Market Foundation does to help better and give back to our amazing community.

If you love beer and much as you love the Pike Place Market, Ninkasi Brewing and the Virginia Inn have created the perfect event for you! The two will host Ninkasi’s “Pints For A Cause” this Friday, March 28, with $2 of each pint purchased benefiting the Pike Place Market Foundation.

The Virgina Inn will have the Eugene, Ore.-based brewery’s Oatis Oatmeal Stout, Mosaic Single Hop Ale (apparently rarely available north of Eugene), and Pravda Bavarian Pils on tap.

The Pike Place Market Foundation was established in 1982 to support housing and services for low-income neighbors of the Market, including funding the Pike Market Medical Clinic, providing Market Fresh Coupons to give low-income residents access to the Market’s fresh produce, as well as raising money for public improvements and repairs to historic Market buildings.

The Virginia Inn opens at 11:30 a.m. and the event will be running all day long, so head down for a Ninkasi beer and show your support for the Market Foundation!

If you’re in the Belltown/Pike Place Market area this weekend, you can’t go wrong with either of these St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. They’re close enough that you could even make a stop at both!

Kells Irish Festival

Participants come from far and wide for this festival, now in its 31st year, featuring Irish bands from Ireland and from around the Pacific Northwest. The festivities began on Sunday, March 9, but will continue through St. Patty’s day itself, Monday, March 17. Traditional Irish dishes will be on the menu, so leave room for corned beef, Irish stew, Ballycastle sausage rolls, Irish soda bread, and of course, Kells’ own Irish brews! Admission is $20, and pre-purchased passes include a festival t-shirt. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Pike Market Clinic. For more information and a full schedule of events, click here.

Kells is located at 1916 Post Alley (between Stewart and Virginia Streets), Pike Place Market.

The Pike Pub & Brewery

Pike’s Pre-Patty’s Celebration kicks off Saturday 3/15 with The Fire Inside Celtic Band, and the pub will be celebrating all day on Monday the 17th. Come down to see the Elliott Bay Pipe & Drum band and sample house-made corned beef and cabbage and top it all off with a Pike Kilt Lifter Ale or XXXXX Stout!

The Pike Pub & Brewery is located at 1415 1st Avenue.
