As all locals know, Seattle is home to a bevy of deliciousness in the worlds of both food and drink, and the list is growing daily. We are also blessed to enjoy stunning views from basically every angle and a vibrant and eclectic culture, buzzing with life and activity. At no time does this city become more alive and beautiful than during the summer.

Sipping locally made beer, spirits, and wines so good they will make you forget the name Napa Valley, all while enjoying the warm sun and refreshing ocean breeze are essentially par for the course around here in the summertime-and that’s just for starters.  The idea of encapsulating all of the magical aspects of Seattle Summer in a single evening seems overwhelming, if not impossible. That is until you experience Pike Place Market’s Sunset Supper.

Yet another incredible event hosted by the Pike Place Market Foundation, Sunset Supper brings together countless local artisans and vendors of finely crafted foods and beverages for a fun and flavor filled evening in the heart of the beautiful, world-famous Pike Place Market. Sweet, savory, brewed, distilled or fermented, if it’s local and delicious, chances are, you’ll find it at Sunset Supper.

For Sunset Supper, the Market transforms into the perfect venue for a party of 1,400 guests featuring live entertainment and over 90 of the Pacific Northwest’s best wineries, breweries and restaurants. Cap of this night of enchantment with dancing under the stars, for something straight off the Silver Screen.

Your ticket to this memorable night includes unlimited food and drink while supplies last, and unlimited good times too!

At Sunset Supper, you can feel good about the great time you’re having too, as proceeds go to benefit the Pike Place Market Foundation in their fight to end hunger, care for the sick, educate kids, and find homes for those without.

See the list below of the fabulous vendors participating in this year’s event and visit their website to learn more about this incredible event and all the work the Pike Place Market Foundation does to help better and give back to our amazing community.

downtown seattleAs some of you may know, real estate in Belltown is booming! But do you know by how much? With all the new buildings going up in the neighborhood one can just assume how many people are attracted to the hip and trendy area. There are currently 93 pending listings, 45 of them being in the Insignia building. According to the NWMLS, last June (2015) there were 35 sold listings. This June there were a total of 164 sold listings, 102 of them being, once again, the Insignia Building. The cumulative days on the market dropped from forty days to fourteen.

Surprisingly, it seems prices aren’t jumping as much as you would think. The highest price for a home has dropped from $1,615,000 to $1,272,000, the lowest going from $219,000 to $210,000. But on the other hand, the median sales price is up from $557,800 to $414,950. According to the Development and Construction Projects on www.downtownseattle.com, there are currently more than 18,00 residential units in pre-development downtown. Looks like there will be a lot of inventory for next June!

Grab your friends and family and head down to the market this Friday, April 22nd for Arcade Lights,  a fantastic, fun event that brings together over 60 local vendors to delight you with tastes of their delectable products.

One of Seattle’s biggest assets is the view—rather, the views. We’re surrounded by mountains & water and have a glass-laden skyline that reflects the sunrises & sunsets and makes the city glow in pinks, oranges, and purples. You’d be hard-pressed to get farther than about 5 minutes from a fantastic view in this magnificent city. One thing our plethora of views gives way to is a plethora of restaurants with unbeatable views.

Be sure to hit up at least one or two of these neighborhood restaurants while you’re in town—you won’t regret it!

SKY CITY

The first and most obvious choice on our list of restaurants with a view is Sky City, the restaurant that sits at the top of the Space Needle at Seattle Center. There is a minimum purchase at the restaurant, but it also includes your entrance & visit to the observation deck. The restaurant rotates, so during your meal you’ll see the full 360º view of the skyline, Puget Sound, Olympics & Cascade mountains.

CUTTERS CRABHOUSE

Just a block away from Pensione Nichols is the 30-year Seattle culinary veteran Cutters Crabhouse. They have a seafood-focused menu, with inspired creations by Chef Deb & sushi Chef Tom. Pro Tip: Call in a reservation (or use Open Table) at least a few hours in advance and ask specifically for west-facing window seat. The breathtaking view of the sound is visible from every seat in the house—but the ones along the west side windows are the best!

ANTHONY’S PIER 66

One awesome thing about Anthony’s Pier 66 is that there are technically three unique Anthony’s concepts right there. Anthony’s Bell Street Diner is a casual seafood restaurant, and is a great option for families. Anthony’s Fish Bar has all of the gorgeous view of the other areas, but is a walk-up option with to-go service. Anthony’s Pier 66 is an upscale, sophisticated dining experience. All three of the unique concepts feature stunning views of the Sound, the skyline, and the mountains.

THE PINK DOOR

Located in Pike Place’s Post Alley, The Pink Door is an exquisite Italian-American restaurant, with live (and free) entertainment, and a patio that overlooks Elliott Bay. And if you’re interested in a different kind of view, they have a variety of performances—including cabaret, opera, magic, and a trapeze artist. Take in this one-of-a-kind location, take in the view, and more.

Drinks & dinner taste better with a view!
